Governmental IPv6 addressing on a national level – GEN6 project publishes guide with core aspects

The implementation of IPv6 into networks brings out new opportunities. As the protocol is designed back to the end to end communication of the Internet each node needs at least one worldwide unique address. When using private networks in addition to the Internet a structured addressing concept is strongly recommended. The motivations behind but also the approach for the design of such an addressing concept is the content of a new GEN6 booklet. “A national-level IPv6 addressing concept for the government” provides background why and support how to start such a concept. The guide is available at publications – booklets.
